Prince George's County Police Athletic League

PAL Mentorship Program

2019 Program is in SESSION!

2020 Registration will open in February!

The Prince George’s County Police Athletic League will once again be applying for a grant from the National Police Athletic/Activities League (NPAL) to implement the PAL Mentorship program. This grant is part of a $5.2 million grant that the NPAL received from the Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). This program is designed for youth ages 11 to 14.

PAL will continue to partner with the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, offering the “Badges for Baseball” program as part of this grant. This program uses physical activities such as baseball, basketball, soccer, dodgeball and a unique game called Quick Ball, to interact and teach your child important life skills and values. Some of the skills and values taught include leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork, respect for oneself and others and living a healthy lifestyle. We will be taking several field trips throughout the year as well working on a Community Service project to be implemented in the fall of 2019.

This program will run from March 2019 through November 2019. Sessions are held the first and third Thursday of each month. Times, dates and locations may be subject to change during the summer.  Field trip dates, times and locations will be sent home approximately two weeks prior the event.
